The Professional Development Center is trying a new approach to recognize excellent teaching at the College of Lake County! This could be something creative you have tried, something you have put into practice from attending a PDC session, a new technology that has helped the teaching/learning process, ways you have adapted your teaching style.the possibilities are endless!
To recognize and reward the various successful teaching strategies our faculty have used, and share these instructional techniques with the college community to further enhance teaching and learning.
The Faculty Development Advisory Committee will select a different teaching and learning related theme 3 times each semester (Spring=Feb/Mar/Apr; Fall=Oct/Nov/Dec). The theme and request for submissions will be emailed to all faculty 3 weeks prior to selecting a Featured Faculty member. Submissions should be 300-500 words in length.
Upon selection, we will post the Featured Faculty member's picture on the PDC website along with a brief summary of his/her teaching technique and a link to the full description.
In addition to sharing ideas, we would also like to reward individuals who are willing to share what they do. As a result, the Featured Faculty member will also be able to select a gift certificate from one of the following:
All submissions for a given topic will also be compiled on a blog on the PDC website ( http://pd.clcillinois.edu ) so that everyone's ideas and teaching techniques can be shared and recognized. Faculty members are encouraged to submit responses as often as desired.
