How do I setup a new Blackboard course? Blackboard Courses can be setup for any credit course. Online and Hybrid courses are setup automaticly. To have a face-to-face course setup, send an email to Russ Pearson of Scott Rial. Please include the course and section number of the new course.
How do I roll over an existing course into a new course for the upcoming semester? All you need to do is send an email to Russ Pearson or Scott Rial with the following information: the course ID of the course to copy material from (ex. AOS121-001-1043), the new course ID (AOS121-800).
I want to keep my old course on Blackboard, but don't want the students to see it, how do I do this? To make a course unavailable, go into the course you want to hide, go to the Control Panel, Click on Settings, then Course Availability, and choose No. Then click the submit button.
I have old courses on Blackboard that I don't need any more, how do I get rid of them? If you have old courses that you would like to get rid of, go into the course you want to get rid of, go to the Control Panel, Click on Settings, then Course Name and Description, and add the word delete to the Course Name. Then click the submit button. We will then remove the course when things slow down.
I want to update my course information on CLC-Online, how do I do this? If you are teaching an Online or Hybrid course your course information is listed on CLC-Online. Most of this information can be updated by the course instructor through the CLC Online Faculty site. Please log into the CLC Online Faculty site and update your course information before resistration starts. Instructions on using the ClC Online Faculty site.
When I log into the CLC Online Faculty site I do not see my course, what do I do? When you log in, if you see a course listed that you are not teaching or a course is missing that you will be teaching please let Scott Rial or Russ Pearson know right a way so it can be updated. Policy # 961 Compensation for Career Development Activities states:
#2 The career development plan must consist of 12 semester hours. Nine of the twelve hours must be credit courses from the College of Lake County or another regionally accredited institution of higher learning. Three hours can be earned from attending specific professional development workshops at CLC and applied to any one Career Development Plan.
