Description:Diversity matters in higher education and decades of empirical research demonstrate the educational benefits of diversity. Interestingly, prior research, some of which was conducted by Professor Strayhorn, shows that the educational benefits of diversity flow to everyone in college, not just diverse learners and students of color. In this session, Strayhorn dispels myths and stereotypes about diversity, highlights the pervasive benefits that make it a compelling interest, and offers advice about how diversity can lead to inclusive excellence for all. Come to learn, learn ready for the world!
