Instant Messaging, or Chat, is a general term for real-time communication that occurs over the Internet. In this workshop, you will learn about the different types of chat available online, explore popular services and tools, and participate in a hands-on demonstration of Meebo, a popular instant messaging tool. We’ll show also show you how to incorporate Meebo into your webpage or online course page to provide a real-time communication opportunity to your visitors and students (a great to offer online office hours).
